Sharee Nash

About the authors:

Gwen Shockey is a Brooklyn-based multi-disciplinary artist and educator. Her work explores marginalized voices and histories, specifically space and memory-based lesbian and queer histories in New York City.  Shockey has exhibited in numerous venues including The Leslie-Lohman Museum of Art in New York and the Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden in Washington D.C. and featured in publications such as Hyperallergic. She was a 2018-19 recipient of The Leslie-Lohman Museum of Art Queer Art Fellowship and a 2020 Them.us Now List awardee for LGBTQ+ Visionaries.  
Shockey has served as an Undergraduate Academic Advisor at Pratt Institute since 2018.

Riya Lerner is an artist and photographer living and working in New York City. Her work is concerned with Queer histories and re-figuring traditional narratives around gender and identity.
Her most recent exhibition Body of Work (November 2019, NYC) was a collaboration with German photographer Katharina Poblotzki and weaved together a visual conversation between the two photographers’ exploration of the particular and nuanced spectrum of relationships between women.
Lerner has served as the Creative Content Manager and Co-Editor of The Archive at the Leslie-Lohman Museum of Art since 2017.
